What we do
Cursive Simulation is a company based in the UK, primarily offering technology strategy advice and proof-of-concept software development. Most of our work is in simulation and modelling. We encourage the use of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) technologies in our solutions, but we also work with embedded and proprietary systems when appropriate. Whatever the case we seek to combine technical innovation with business innovation, either on its own is often insufficient.

How we operate
Our philosophy regarding business relationships is a simple one, for any relationship to be successful it must be beneficial to both sides. When we work with you we strive to help your business be more successful, if we can’t improve your success then we can’t succeed ourselves. This should show through, we will always seek to understand your business as well as we can, and we will keep your interests in mind even if we don’t have an active project with you. This ensures that on each project you will get the best solution for you, also between and across projects it enables us to provide you with a coherent and consistent service.

The most valuable assets in our company are the people who work for us. They all have a background in fundamental sciences, engineering, and computing, with experience of how to apply those skills in a commercial context. This is essential because we believe that technical computing is still at the stage where knowledge of both science and computing are required for success.

A team of the calibre we maintain would be difficult for many of our customers to justify, even our large customers who operate globally. In many businesses these professionals would be continually distracted by non-core tasks, the focus of their efforts would often be narrow and slowly-changing; these people would often lose touch with the state of the art, and eventually they might even lose interest and enthusiasm for their areas of expertise. Our staff work on a balanced variety of interesting subjects and between projects they are continuously probing the limits of technology today; they are surrounded by like minded individuals, and most importantly they enjoy their work.

Think of us as your outsourced or part-time research and development department. We have access to some of the best minds around, they keep up to date with the latest advances, they have a wealth of experience applying technology to serve business requirements, and they haven’t lost their enthusiasm or creativity. You don’t have to take on the costs of running this department all year round, and sometimes we will come to you with ideas you may not have thought of.

Zero risk
As a sign of our commitment to help you improve your success we can sometimes carry out work at zero risk to your business. This generally works in one of two ways: either we identify some specific improvements/savings/benefits for your business and arrange payment terms which reflect the benefits you see, or more simply it might be that we can provide you with a solution and you only have to pay when you’ve had the time to decide it is right for you.
